iLamp and Cinema Display Screen Brightness

    Hi all,

This is an issue that ha been raised several time and never solved properly to my knowledge. The Xgamma trick just does not cut it for me. It does not actually change the backlight just vaguely shades the rendering on the screen.

Looking around I discovered that under Mac OS screen brightness can be adjusted using Apple IO.KIt framework (see here http://osxbook.com/book/bonus/chapter10/light/). Now I have read that IO.Kit is opensource and written in C++ so there should be a way to look into it and see if some usefull info can be used to make screen brightness controil work under linux.

EDIT: I just discovered that there seem to be a PPC Nvidia driver setting utility in OpenSUSE (http://www.rpmseek.com/rpm/nvidia-se...m.1.1.ppc.html)

I am not a programmer so I am basically looking for a good soul to help out with this.
