12.04 Complete system lockup not detected by LKCD

    Hi all,
I am trying to generate a crashdump using LKCD (Linux kernel crash dump), I installed linux-crashdump, made very sure that the crashkernel is running, but freezes still occurs(complete lockup, magic sysrq key no effect, the caps-lock key also no respond), without displaying kernel panic messages even I left it for half an hour. I have checked that NMI watchdog has been enabled on all cores.

Currently using lenovo G580 laptop, using intel core-i5 and intel hd4000 integrated graphics.

Now I am very puzzled. Is there any other definite way of capturing system lockup events and generate memory dumps?

FYI, the lockup happens very randomly, sometimes it occurs within an hour after boot, sometimes not happening even I run BOINC on it overnight.
