    Renaming System Programs

    Hello,

    Am attempting to rename various system programs for more the linguistically appropriate suggestion in a various contexts.

    That's about as clear as mud, but I'll take a guess... you mean you'd like to, for instance, name Rhythmbox or Banshee to Music Player? Go to /usr/share/applications as root (in a terminal run sudo gedit and navigate to rhythmbox.desktop or banshee.desktop), under the field "Name" change the name to Music Player and save the file. Done.
