How to change icon in unity?

    Hi,

I created a start up bash script to start a program just before loading xbmc:
    Code:
    gnome-desktop-item-edit ~/Desktop/ --create-new
and changed the icon, but when i move it across to the unity bar it displays a "spring" icon..have a look at the screenshot below...

I cant find the launcher in /usr/share/applications/

    what can i do?

I have created a launcher and added the icon via the main menu , but did not add it to the desktop before hand . I opened the application from dash and selected keep in launcher .

I keep the icons in my home folder so I can change them to match the different sets .
    Infinite diversity in infinite combination.
