    Cool Boot/installation failure after loading screen

    Trying to install ubuntu 11.10 on a second partition on my ASUS g60jx laptop. I have tried booting from a cd and a flash drive (using the pendrive software linked from ubuntu's website)


    After the ubuntu loading screen flashes for a a few seconds, the screen goes looks like the image posted.

    Any idea what is going wrong?
