Program to reset to original on restart

I was wondering if there is a program I could install on the compuers I am building for seniors an needy peoplke that will reset the computer back to the original installation on restart? I seem to remember a program years ago on some CAP computers in a school that would do this. If you wanted to upgrade or change the programs you had to press a couple of keys on bootup.

Look into kiosk mode or use a virtualizer and untar an image before you boot it.

    You could try Lethe,
it works in the same way as the proprietary software Deep Freeze by Faronics, in that it creates a separate partition with your original OS image that can't be changed...and is reloaded each boot.
Or you could just remove the HDD and boot from a custom live disc/USB/SD created using Remastersys.

Thumbs down Re: Program to reset to original on restart

Thank You both for the information. I am very strictly a newbie and am not afraid to say so. I will try both answers.
