    Neverball
    Neverputt

    Strategy:
    Wesnoth
    Glob2
    netpanzer
    liquidwar

    Chromium
    frozenbubble
flobouyo (if you by any chance played doctor robotnic's mean bean machine for the genesis)
    lbreakout2
    moagg -- gravity game

    torcs -- Racing simulator
slune is pretty good I hear but it doesn't run for me, segmentation fault
    FlightGear -- Flight simulator

Those are all free and in the repository, though several a bit old.

Glest is another awsome strategy game, kind of like Warcraft, but it's not in the repository.

Try http://www.tuxgames.com/ for commercail games. I'll probably get shot for saying this but sometimes a little bit of cash can make a great game.

The heresy, 1veedo, I'll shoot you myself!

I prefer VDrift to TORCS. I talk about more good Free games on my Free Gamer website. (Am I over-advertising that?)

Wesnoth is a fantastic strategy game with great graphics, music etc.
Adom is a free as in beer roguelike game. I like it much better than nethack, rogue, angband and all those. It has a much more consitent world (no aliens and stupid humor monsters), a great skill and combat system too. I just wish it would be opensourced
I'm not a fan of any of the nethack interfaces mentioned here. Vulture's Eye is pretty interesting though, Best non-ascii GUI for a roguelike yet I think. There is also Vulture's Claw which uses Slash'EM instead of nethack. Slash'EM is a patched nethack with more gameplay features.
Sauerbraten or "cube 2" is my favorite of the freeware FPS. Its still in Dev but its loads of fun to play. The whole map editor concept is very intriguing as well.

True Combat:Elite (www.truecombat.com) is a great mod for Enemy Territory. (It's teamplay a la Counter Strike)
