Well Cecil the kahelos installation wanted to use the full drive ..... ( 500 Gig )
cannot wipe a full 500 gig drive for one OS .....
That looked like a good Distro too Gnome Shell from boot up ....
would be good if they can get the installation to use the partitioner and partitions too.
( my partitions are already set up to use - but the only install option is to use a full disk drive - how bizarre )
Not sure how to get Arch onto my test machine as my options are limited with
the setup I have ( no main drive in it + no backlight on the laptop screen ) so dd is not a option neither is Net install ....![]()
It runs from external USB Hard Drives and the output is to a TV screen ... through a DVI
connector - which never shows a boot screen or terminal screen until well into the boot
sequence .... so the kernel has to be running before I can get to any display .....
Will have to wait till tomorrow and try it on the desktop .... so tonight is for something
else ..... will search around and see if I can solve the problem I have with the Ubuntu
install and script stopping with the error ....
what is it building here can I get a version that already works ok ..... can I skip this part .... options ...Code:prefix: /home/keith/install exec_prefix: ${prefix} libdir: ${exec_prefix}/lib includedir: ${prefix}/include OpenGL: yes (ES1: no ES2: yes) OpenVG: no OSMesa: no DRI drivers: i915 i965 nouveau r200 radeon swrast DRI driver dir: ${libdir}/dri Shared dricore: no GLX: DRI-based GLU: yes EGL: yes EGL platforms: wayland x11 drm EGL drivers: builtin:egl_glx builtin:egl_dri2 llvm: yes llvm-config: /usr/bin/llvm-config llvm-version: 2.9 Gallium: yes Gallium dirs: auxiliary drivers state_trackers Target dirs: dri-nouveau dri-r300 dri-r600 dri-swrast Winsys dirs: nouveau/drm radeon/drm sw sw/dri sw/wayland Driver dirs: galahad identity llvmpipe noop nouveau nv50 nvc0 nvfx r300 r600 rbug softpipe trace Trackers dirs: dri Shared libs: yes Static libs: no CFLAGS: -g -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -std=c99 -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-builtin-memcmp -fPIC CXXFLAGS: -g -O2 -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-builtin-memcmp -fPIC Macros: -D_GNU_SOURCE -DPTHREADS -DHAVE_POSIX_MEMALIGN -DUSE_XCB -DGLX_INDIRECT_RENDERING -DGLX_DIRECT_RENDERING -DUSE_EXTERNAL_DXTN_LIB=1 -DIN_DRI_DRIVER -DHAVE_ALIAS -DHAVE_MINCORE -DHAVE_LIBUDEV -DHAVE_XCB_DRI2 -D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS -DUSE_X86_ASM -DUSE_MMX_ASM -DUSE_3DNOW_ASM -DUSE_SSE_ASM PYTHON2: python2 Run 'make' to build Mesa make[1]: Entering directory `/home/keith/source/mesa/src' Making sources for autoconf make[2]: Entering directory `/home/keith/source/mesa/src/mapi/shared-glapi' gcc -c -I../../../include -I../../../src/mapi -DMAPI_MODE_GLAPI -DMAPI_ABI_HEADER=\"shared-glapi/glapi_mapi_tmp.h\" -g -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -std=c99 -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-builtin-memcmp -fPIC -DUSE_X86_ASM -DUSE_MMX_ASM -DUSE_3DNOW_ASM -DUSE_SSE_ASM -D_GNU_SOURCE -DPTHREADS -DHAVE_POSIX_MEMALIGN -DUSE_XCB -DGLX_INDIRECT_RENDERING -DGLX_DIRECT_RENDERING -DUSE_EXTERNAL_DXTN_LIB=1 -DIN_DRI_DRIVER -DHAVE_ALIAS -DHAVE_MINCORE -DHAVE_LIBUDEV -DHAVE_XCB_DRI2 -D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS -DHAVE_LLVM=0x0209 -fvisibility=hidden ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c -o mapi_glapi.o ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c: In function ‘_glapi_get_dispatch_table_size’: ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c:78:11: error: ‘MAPI_TABLE_NUM_STATIC’ undeclared (first use in this function) ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c:78:11: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c:78:11: error: ‘MAPI_TABLE_NUM_DYNAMIC’ undeclared (first use in this function) ../../../src/mapi/mapi/mapi_glapi.c:79:1: warning: control reaches end of non-void function [-Wreturn-type] make[2]: *** [mapi_glapi.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/keith/source/mesa/src/mapi/shared-glapi' make[1]: *** [subdirs] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/keith/source/mesa/src' make: *** [default] Error 1 keith@keith-Aspire-7730ZG:~/Downloads$
Will do a safe-upgrade as some new packages are in 12.04 ... then run the script again.
MAPI
lf it is only for the mail server then I do not need it ..... but does it do more than that ?
