Your not having any fun at all !!!
Maybe you should try one of the older versions that work, not much difference.

I have had a few work ok for me - and they do install really well the ones that still had startx on them .......
I still feel comfortable in X windows ..... so without it I am lost ........ thought I would try to see what
causing the ubiquity problem though ....... but cannot check it out yet ......
Everything is fun while the computer still runs ..... will play some more now ........
OK, good luck, let me know what gives.
I got in - plus have a network and have a screen res to work with
used lightdm to get me in ( enlightenment_start ) tried and no go - gnome-shell no go - no config for gdm -
but lightdm worked
used aptitude update and aptitude install arandr
arandr
once a network connection was established
NOW TO TRY A INSTALL fingers crossed .......
Install went ok - but it does something odd at the very end - not a clean dismount
will post a video later on ..... am installing one more time as wireless was not working.
The video will be here when it loads up 30 mins or so to wait - but it was a 7 min video

Its installed now - and running on my other laptop ...... Asus with optimus and so far this is the best distro for picking
up the resolution for the TV which usually only went to 1280 x 720 after some messing about.
But with RB its in at 1920 x 1080 ......... cannot believe it ............

So far so good and it booted into wayland dual screen too ........ at startup ......... but am going to check things in x first
before going into anything else ....... hawaii did not seem to want to go in and I have yet to try Gnome-shell
Will do that now after installing ksnapshot to show the results ......

Looks like you went through the back door to get it installed !!!
I dont know why I cant get it going ???
Let us know what you find out.
Just tried out Gnome-Shell from KDE using gnome-shell --replace
and its working well .......... excuse the different size monitors .... that is why the No Message bar
is in the wrong place - but I will fix this soon ..... just not going to mess with dual monitors till I check some
other things out first ..........

Not sure if screenshots will work inside wayland or not - but will go there in a few minutes
I would check your drive is ok ..... but as I said this was not easy for me to get into - from the CD
was not just a straight boot into a graphicel environment ....... but Nvidia and Wayland seemed to
be a problem sometime in the past ......... am happy its running on the Asus now though.
Might be best if I did some sort of report on what its running .......... in the way of graphics ......
Will return soon .....
Had a dodgy connector
am back up - will continue now ........

I tried three different HD's and different partitions with the results.
Seems odd - but as I say and showed the installer did not give any choices at the very end - it just bombs out
Here is Enlightenment running
http://i.minus.com/i2MEt062EFZza.jpg
Not sure how you could get it running - if you do what I did it was to get
lightdm
Then once in run ubiquity .... but thats all I did other than using a full hard drive for the install
this 80 gig ...... but then I installed it a second time - which set the nvidia up ........ not that I
appear to be using it yet though ....... no sign of nvidia-settings yet
I did get Gnome-Shell running from Wayland ......... but the two apps that I tried bombed it out
Firefox and ksnapshot ..... the wireless appeared to be there although not working and no wired connnection
But will spend some more time looking at that later ..... just enjoying it now after the initial start
not going so well ......... I installed to a external USB as always ........ but do not know if that makes
any difference to whether or not it installs ok or not .....
Sata drive ....... not ide ......... but it should
make no difference really ..........
