can not erase deleted programs from the startup main menu

I have installed digiKam and subsequently removed the program on my latest xubuntu.

In the start up menu, under graphics, it continues to showup (although does not link obviously). Same for a program panorama. How can I remove these orphanced menu?

    thanks,

Run from the terminal the command alacarte. Then opens the Menu and from there search and uncheck the 2 apps you like to remove from the menu.
