What bugs you the most about Ubuntu Forums?
Lack of use of the search button, making for a zillion duplicate questions, just all asked in different ways.

Dang I hope that's the only big option I forgot...
Poor search defaults. If it would default to "sort by relevency" half those dupe threads would not exist.

That's for sure !! I know I have almost given up searching a couple of times even when I knew I had seen a thread or a link to a thread that would solve my problem. And maybe I'm missing something but the search doesn't seem to recognize quotes for identifyng a phrase rather than seperate words.Originally Posted by TeeAhr1

Maybe I haven't been here long enough, but nothing really bothers me here. I have taken part in communities that were a thousand times worse than this one, so I can skip over any minor annoyances relatively easy.

Seeing new threads asking the same question that has been answered thousands of times before, or could have been alleviated completely by doing a simple wiki search. That annoys me. Also those that start threads asking a question having never even attempted what they're asking about to begin with. I know this distro/forum caters to linux beginners, but those unable to take any initiative or effort will be doomed to failure with linux. It's inevitable, and you can see that from all the "mp3 dont work, going back to Winders" threads.
The Search Function is Absolutely Awful!
Go ahead, let's try it out. let's say you were having problems with "Grub Boot Issues" (for example). Do a search for that and you'll find a thread titled exactly that, pretty helpful huh? probably exactly what you were looking for.
Only The thread titled Exactly what you typed is on Page 7 of the results! You have to wade through approximately 120 other threads on such relevant subjects as the Bios Clock, Dapper installation advice, and how to read PDF's in Ubuntu to get even close.
Awful.
EDIT: Just a secondary thought, perhaps if the search function was more helpful we'd see less poorly worded questions, Bumping and Crossposting.

Yes the search function is almost useless for me. Its even better to use Google search and write Ubuntu after whatever I search for.
Proselytizing!!! does this mean we been infiltrated by some religious sect who are trying to brain wash us and make us join?
