Most annoying aspect about these forums

you know what really annoys me, is people complaining about whats wrong with the forums and posting useless polls about complaining about the forums, rather than actually trying to fix it. I mean seriously.

Nothing is more annoying than that.

Nothing annoys me about the forums. They're a fantastic help.

I also take a tolerant view of people asking questions that have been asked several times before. A new user cannot be sure that the info applies to his/her version. And some people also like a bit of personal reassurance at the beginning.

The search is slightly annoying, but I use Google to get around this problem.
What I do appreciate is the crisp moderating. Just look at the Jail if you don't believe me. These guys are GOOD!

Since when are the Ubuntu forums open source? They are not. So either we can suck it up or make useless polls

On the off-chance that you're serious, let me reassure you that I love these forums. And I dislike polls too. I do what I can with my limited knowledge and spare time to help out and make the place pleasant.

Believe me Meng, im quite serious.

For as much Flak as I take over the UDSF (http://doc.gwos.org) and the Arena (http://gaming.gwos.org) because Im duplicating efforts and creating things that are seen an unnessecary, I take quite seriously anything that puts what I defend and stand up for as serious.

No offense to you in any way meng, merely my attempt at showing you that what most annoys me about the forums is those that pose the thought that there is actually something wrong without , outside of the normal fashion of every day to day living. 100,000+ users cant be wrong, but more so, merely an expression of a collection of users that cohesion together very well, from what I see day in and day out.

If you have idea's to help improve the forums please make a post in the Forum Discussion area with your ideas and improvements. I am going to lock this thread, before this thread gets out of control.

Again use the forum disucussion area to post on how we can improve. Not just how much you think we suck. *All* forums face some of the same issues as you mentioned if not more and we are no exception. We can only improve and this thread is not going to acheive that.

*one little note I'd like to add, is that as a forum, we can try and help people to post correctly and we can try and prevent/remove people that are obnoxious, but the basic fact of every forum is that many people will behave rudely, obnoxiously, and in a host of other descriptions of bad behavior - and that isn't a problem with the forum itself.
