Artec e+48u not working on 11.10

Some time ago I had the same problem and got to resolve it, now I'm on a dead end. I have the scanner artec e+48u, I have the Artec48.usb file at the usr/share/artec_eplus48u and the same direction is on the file at the etc/sane.d/artec_eplus48u.cof file and yet I get an error message every time I try to run the xsane program to use my scanner.

As you can see, the scanner is recognized and yet I can't use it. Please, help, is of great importance!!
