    How old is your machine? The command sudo lshw > myconfig.txt will generate a text file with complete details about your computer. In particular, it will show the date of the BIOS, which is really your computer's "birthday."

    My Machine is 4 years old. The code returned just:

    PCI (sysfs)

    Toshiba Satellite Intel T1350, 1.86Ghz, 12.04 (precise), 32 bit Kernel version: 3.2.0-67-generic-pae, gnome 3.4.2, Intel Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics

    Sorry, I left out a command. If you open a terminal and enter the command:
    gedit myconfig.txt
    you will see all the details about your computer.

    The previous command created a text file.

    Sometimes System Monitor uses a lot of memory and CPU. I do not understand what causes this.
