Question Question on X server, two displays, non xinerama

    Hello,

I have setup X to create two independent screens, :0.0 and :0.1, in a non xinerama layout. Whatever Desktop environment I choose at login launches independently on each screen, which works great. However, I would like to know if it is possible to launch two different desktop environments on each screen. I.e. Launch Xmonad on .0 and XFCE on .1

I've searched the web extensively but haven't been able to find anything on this.

The only way I know that this might be possible is via a "multiseat" setup and ofc install say gnome and xfce and use your login manager (gdm, kdm etc etc..) to login to the DE/WM you want.

    Thanks for that Drakx.

Would you please elaborate more on the multiseat setup you mention? Sounds very interesting!

EDIT: Ah, nevermind! Found some interesting links on the subject, in particular: http://linuxagora.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=764
