    Firewire expresscard drivers

I recently installed the newest version of Ubuntu on my laptop after Windows decided to stop working properly. I use my laptop for recording music so it's important that I get my gear to work with linux.

I installed the program I use with Wine and I have a recording interface that is connected to my computer through a firewire expresscard. In order for this to work, i need the drivers for the firewire card. It came with a cd to install the drivers, but the cd doesn't autorun in Linux os I have no idea how to get the drivers. Any help is appreciated.

First of all, the CD is probably only Windows SW and drivers -- and those can't be used in Linux.

Second, you can't use Wine to install Windows drivers. Linux needs Linux drivers.

Third, suggest you check out the manufacturer's website and see if they have any driver download for Linux. Some do.
    Ubuntu 14.04, Mint 17; MS Win 8.1.
