    Need help getting digital audio to work

    I have Xubuntu 11.10 64 bit installed. I am using a digital cable from my C-Media CMI8762 sound card to my receiver. With my previous Ubuntu 10.04 installation I was able to get sound to my speakers by installing Gnome ALSA mixer and putting a check mark in the IEC958 box. This no longer works. I have Sound Settings set at C-Media CMI8762 (Alsa mixer). I'm lost! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Problem solved by switching to Kubuntu.
