Intel Classmate Touchscreen with Lubuntu or Xubuntu or Puredyne

Hello,
im thinking about getting an Intel Classmate with only 1Gb ram and 1,6Ghz.
I'd like to run Pure Data on it and need for realtime soundprocessing all the memory i can get.

is it possible to set up the touchscreen in Xubuntu or even better in Lubuntu?
Or is it possible with Puredyne to make the touchscreen avaible?
Is there better OS to use for that?

I dont need to do great windowmanaging skills with the touch, only touch detection like it would be a mouse ...
