A while ago, my optical drive on my ps3 gave out. The idea occurred to me to install linux on it. Several google searches led me to believe that none of the major methods for this are able to do it without a cd to boot off of. It is one of the original 20GB models, and there was apparently an option to partition the disk, which I did. Unfortunately, my plan of booting off a flash drive didn't work, and I couldn't find a way to make it. I currently have the hard drive out, and am able to plug it into my desktop if necessary. Does anyone know how this would be achieved?
