Does ubuntu support router bridging and any suggestions?

I've been having a lot of issues with my wireless card, so I've decided to either get a new one or use a bridge router as a wireless card.

I'd prefer using a router as a bridge, since it would strengthen the wireless signal in parts of my house, but I'm wondering if Ubuntu is capable of supporting that with little or no modification?

If it is capable of supporting that, do you guys have any suggestions about what to buy, or what kind of thing to look for?
Any and all tips are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

That page refers (apparently) to only unsupported versions of Ubuntu. Also, do you have any advice for what to look for in a router for use as a network bridge?
