    Ubuntu Game Icons

A personal project which I decided to share. We have a dozen of Ubuntu Gaming Rigs at work for the kids, so I thought some big flashy icons.

Ubuntu Game Icons are also great if you're setting up a multimedia/gaming station with Boxee/XMBC etc.

    195 icons all 512x512 pix.
If you have a wish/request for a game that haven't been added, please let me know and I'll make sure it will be added in the next update.

    Amazing work! =D>

A couple good open source games that you should add are 0 A.D. and Sauerbraten.

    Re: Ubuntu Game Icons

excellent work! please keep on with this project!
Seems like I need to create a new theme for my typhon launcher to match your icons
    some suggestions:
no idea if this would be much work, but a generic
text on the top of the images without "ubuntu" would
probably be very appreciated by non-ubuntu users (including me). I could overlay this though in the typhon
    theme :}

would rock to have pictures for
    - cubosphere
    (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cubosphere/)
    - xmoto
    - frozen bubble
    - aba games: a7xpg, gunroar, mucade, noiz2sa, parsec47, rrootage, titanion, torustrooper, tumikifighters, valandrick
    ( http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/index_e.html )
maybe adding some pictures for emulators would be a good idea(?)

the neverball picture should better be under FOSS btw

    Re: Ubuntu Game Icons

Thanks for suggesting typhon launcher, wasn't aware about it. I'm going to check it out
Do you have some cool images like; logo, art etc. I can work with. Just PM me with it if you have.

I can do the emulators as well.

The reason why it was with Ubuntu logo, is because it was meant as a personal project that wasn't idea to put on share. It would be tremendous work to redo them, may be when I feel this one is 'close to finished'.
You could put a label upon the icon(s) where it says Ubuntu in gimp.

I'll put the named games on my list you mentioned + emulators.

    Re: Ubuntu Game Icons

wow, you're really fast with replying
oh, no problem of course with the ubuntu text.
I didn't know how much work it would be.
Thank you very much for accepting my suggestions!

    regarding typhon:
I'm afraid that apart from the bundled artwork and the few themes on my homepage I don't have any other gfx.
    which makes 3 official (+ gazillion of compatible ps3 p3ts :} ) themes atm.
I just commited alphachannel support for previewpictures on the google code page
At the weekend I noticed on my wifes ubuntulaptop, that
ubuntusupport needs some attention in my code.
opencv is quite old on ubuntu and therefore requires a version check and (at least on my wifes laptop)
there seem to be problems with extracting the p3t themes into /dev/shm. haven't found out why yet.
apart from that sfml2 needs to be built from source too, so I consider to optionally bundle/link statically
    until v2 is ready.
I've attached a scrot of a quick&dirty modified pure theme using your outstanding icons

It's incredible how a good presentation can increase the value. Good work.

By the way the icon you made for World of Goo reminds me to Super Meat Boy's "cover" (that might have a Linux version soon).

Dang. Wish you would have kept them distribution-agnostic and not branded them. Not everyone uses *ubuntu...
