    Question High RAM usage

I am running Ubuntu via the Wubi application through Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit), and am getting unreasonably high RAM usage. I have a total of 3 GB on my laptop and every time I run Ubuntu it is anywhere from 90-99% usage but this is not the case when I run Windows. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I love Ubuntu and would like to use it more often but not with such high RAM usage. Any help would be much obliged.

Which version of Ubuntu are you running with Wubi.
Say no to Microsoft. Say yes to open source.

    Re: High RAM usage

Apparently I'm running the 32 bit version of 10.04 but I thought I had the 64 bit version. Shouldn't the 32 bit version be able to use 3 GB though?

Okay, I don't really enjoy debugging Wubi, so my solution is to install Ubuntu side-by-side with your existing system

Ubuntu installed from a thumb drive/flash drive takes about 15 minutes tops on a newish system.

Wubi isn't worth the hassle sometimes. If it works, great.. If not, try something better like actually installing Ubuntu to its own partition like everyone else.

Windows is Bloated. And will ruin your Ubuntu experience.

Linux is not Windows, and doesn't utilize RAM the same way Windows does. http://www.linuxatemyram.com/
