My touchscreen behaves like a touchpad

    Hi all,

I've got a new Packard Bell computer with a touch screen. I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 on it and everything works fine, but the touch screen.
In fact, the touchscreen system works, but the problems is that the it behaves like a laptop touchpad and not like a touch screen. What I mean is that when I move my finger through the screen, the pointer reproduces the move relative to it's original position, such as a touchpad does.
This makes my touchscreen totally useless.
Do I have to install any extra packages? (I'm using Ubuntu with Gnome, unity and compiz).

    Thank you all!
