    Question Weird touch pad problem

    Hello!

At the beginning sometimes, now quite often my touch pad behaves weird. The cursor moves around normally, but when I click, it behaves as if I hadn't moved it for sometime.

E.g., I open a terminal. I can type and do everything in there normally, then I move the cursor to the Close-Window-Button, click - and boom! - a second terminal opens (the click appears to be registered as if I'm still on the "Open terminal" button in the task bar). The same behavior appears for other programs (Firefox or Open Office). To "solve" the problem, I need to to a right-click, after that, everyhting works ok for a small amount of time. If the screen saver is active and I move the mouse, I see the cursor moving around, but it doesn't deactivate the screen saver. The problem is not limited to open programs - the cursor position for a click can freeze everywhere on the screen while the cursor position shown to me moves around.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much,

    Blutkoete
If SUDO is all-powerful, can SUDO start a process that SUDO can't kill?

Would it be possible to try attaching a USB mouse and see if the problem persists.

This sounds more like a bug though than a hardware problem. Something else you can try is using unity 2d and see if that helps solve your problem.
    The future has passed.

Is this a new install or upgrade of Lubuntu ?

I would suggest you put a link to this post in the Lubuntu One Stop Thread
so other Lubuntu users may help.
