    remove "open with" files associations

    Hi,

I know how to set a default "open with" file association. What I can't figure out is how to remove the wrong ones from the right-click pulldown menu. Thanks.

How you would this directly from the context menu would depend on what release of ubuntu you are using. You should post that

    The thread says "lubuntu" ...

In Ubuntu (vanilla) you right-click the file and select "Properties" and there, from the tab, that says "Open With", you can choose the default association or remove unwanted ones.

I don't know how that works in lubuntu ... try, it might be the same ...

Right click on the file you wish, select properties, then customize.

This only allows me to add applications but not remove them.

Edit: I found the answer it's done by making the wanted changes in ./local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
