Ubuntu 11.10, remove shortcuts from panel

    Hello,

I've using Ubuntu during 5 months and recently I did an update to a current version (11.10. I'm using GNOME Classic, w/effects).

My problem is that I've added shortcut icons to the top panel bar, and I don't know now how to remove them. I have Thunderbird, Mozilla, the System Monitor, the Terminal, Skype, etc. (top bar, see attachment) The System Monitor is repeated in the top right part of the screen.

In the last version of ubuntu I could do secondary click to the bar and see the panel configuration. Here I can't. Maybe there's some package that needs to be reinstalled.

    Thank you very much

    Greetings,
    Ignacio

The last thing I've tried was this, but it didn't work. The shortcuts are still present as before

gnome-session-fallback gnome-panel in gnome 3 is not the alternative for users who liked gnome 2.x gnome-panel. It is, despite looks, completely different.
I think you need to alt+right click to modify the panels.

    I see. Alt+Right doesn't work either.

Can I downgrade the gnome-panel version to one in which this functionality works (from 3 to 2.x)?

    I'll try this

Holding alt and right clicking the icon worked for me! Thanks!

    Thanks, this helped me too.
But who got the idea that Alt+Right click should be used to enable this option? The normal right click menu consists of two items (one being identical to the left click action). Why is Alt+Right click needed to reach two very basic options (move and remove)? Can I change this somehow?

    Alt+Right-Click worked for me, too.

    Thanks for the info!

Alt-right click worked for me! I share jolindbe's feelings about this.
