    Hdmi Output

    Hi all,
I bought a new monitor (which is actually a TV), and have switched from digital output to HDMI. My computer has sound input from the motherboard, but I would like the sound to come from my graphics card. I have installed the latest nvidia graphics drivers for ubuntu. Does anyone know how to change from where the sound is outputted? Thanks.

It should be in the sound preferences, along with the settings like "which hardware to use" for output. check there, maybe your HDMI sound output is not being used.

PS. If this did not help, please provide more info.

In alsamixer, on my other sound output, there are many options and meters, but when I switch my sound card to HDMI, I only get four options, and they're all "S / PDIF ".

I have fixed the problem by changing the output in the sound settings menu from Digital Stero (HDMI) Output to Digital Stereo (HDMI) nr 2 Output.
