    Application to write music

    Hi,

    Can anyone suggest an application to write notes on a pentagram (or a guitar tab)?
    It would be preferable if it can also play it back.

    You could try Rosegarden which is a comprehensive MIDI editor. Not sure about the guitar notation, but you could look at the Manual http://rosegardenmusic.com/wiki/doc:manual-en for help.
