Create a bootable backup of my system

    Hi,
I downloaded Ubuntu from the Internet and recently upgraded it I've also done quite a few updates. Is it possible to create a new copy of the Ubuntu currently installed with all of the updates without my personal folders which I can install on another machine?

Have a look at this, to see if it would fit your needs:

Well if I could get it right its basically what I want to do. But honestly I've only had Ubuntu running for about 3 months now and most of what was posted there went over my head. I guess there isn't an easier way or some post for a beginner like me that is idiot proof?

you could try Remastersys, it will probably be simpler for you to use.
However I've not tried it past 11.04.
My entire, heavily modified system ends up as a 1.4Gb live disk, with all its additional codecs, software and updates. You can also get it to save user logins.

direct download of .deb installer if you have trouble adding respository, but I expect you will get an untrusted software warning from the software centre, so install Gdebi from software centre then right click the downloaded remastersys.deb and open it with gdebi to install.
