Problems with duel booting Windows and Ubuntu

I just bought a laptop with Windows 7 preinstalled. I re-sized the partition and created a new one for an Ubuntu installation.... I installed UBUNTU on the newly created partition.. I thought that the GRUB boot loader would automatically be installed but it doesn't seem to be the case... The computer is exclusively booting in Windows now.. Any ideas how to go about fixing this?? and getting GRUB is load so I can access my UBUNTU partition. I was under the impression that one would encounter this problem only after installing Windows after Ubuntu.. (the case where Windows tends to assume it is the only operating system installed) Thanks much!

There is no greater religion than a truth.
