Question 3D weather analysis software for linux

Greetings. I have been reading though the forums and found some old posts about weather analysis programs. I am looking to try and find some programs to get information from NEXRAD and NOAA. I am wanting to get into the 3D rendering and anaylsis of storms.

Something along the lines of GRLevel 2 analysis, only for linux.

On the forums it was mentioned that the old programs, from back in 2006, were in need of a cluster 'beowulf' to make them run well. I am currently working on a 4 node cluster using AMD A8's .

Any help finding the appropriate programs would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with this at all, so I did a search on the net. I did find something, but it isn't open source so it costs $70 - http://www.weather-display.com/index.php. I have no idea if it does anything like what you are looking for.

I also found this, but not sure how it applies or what it costs:

    http://www.rainmanweather.com/site/

    Also:
    http://www.weathershop.com/weather_software.htm

    Also:
    http://www.filebuzz.com/findsoftware...r_Linux/1.html

Also, this site lists free software for viewing the 3d data and at least 2 of them are java based, which *hopefully* means they are platform independent.
    http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/radar/radardata.html

I didn't keep looking through everything that was returned, nor did I check the software center. With the large engineering base that Linux has, I would think there would be several of these out there. Remember to search using Linux, not ubuntu. Once you find them you can determine if they might work in ubuntu or not.

Thanks, those help a bit. I just wish there was a good program similar to GRlevel 2 analysis that was used for a cluster. I will keep looking but thanks for the help.

Check out GEMPAK. It runs under Linux and I was going to try it, but never got around to it.

    Update:

I found this today. Not sure on how detailed it it.
