    install with a kernel

    Hi,
I want install ubuntu on a vortex cpu.
I choice ubuntu server because the other iso crash the kernel on boot.
The boot of the cd goes well, it seems to install everythings but what it should install the kernel it cant because it cant find the correct kernel.
If i click on "continue without the kernel" it doesnt complete the "base installation" and then cant proceeds with the next steps.
I have a deb with che correct kernel for vortex to install but:
    1) If i drop to the shell, it isn't a chrooted shell so i cant install the deb
    2) if i install the deb, I should say to the installer that the base installation is complete, how ?

cheers and thanks for any help.
