    Samba newbie - aaargh! 10.04LTS

    Hi,

    I have 10.04LTS on sda1, with two separate 80Gb FAT32 disks showing as sdb1 and sdc1. I have shared these as 'Disk-Two' and 'Disk_Three' via webmin, and can access them on a local network from Vista and Win7, but I can't write to either disk.

    I understand it is a case of setting the correct permissions, but I have set the logon account to read/write and the directory permissions to 775. What am i doing wrong?

    Any help would be really helpful!

    Wouldn't you want 777?

    Be warned, this gives them complete access to the share.

    Ok, I'll give it a try - thanks for your help!
    I'm not too bothered about access control at disk-level as long as it is confined to just the shared disks... at the end of the day, I just want to be able to access the dratted things. Ho hum!
