Hi, I am using Ubuntu 11.10 with Gnome 3.2. My laptop is sony Vaio F11 Series. My soundcards not showing up randomly on reboots. I couldn't figure out why/when this happening.

When I run aplay -l or lspci -v it always list out the internal sound card and HDMI card. How ever in Sound settings nothing showing up. Couple of reboots needed to fix the issue.

I understand I could be leaving little info, please let me know if you need more details like log files. I am still newbie on linux but I can get the details if instruction given.

Its just annoying sometimes soundcard missing. Windows seems fine always. Any help to figure out the issue is most appreciated.
