You should be able to just click the connection icon in the top right of your screen.

I have tried to create a new wireless network to connect it to the my ADSL router which is from TP-Link.
there were no wireless connection visible to it (Ubuntu or laptop) .
My router is workin correctly and I have tried it on another OS.
