i use this tool to understand these processes and i have introduced 4 people to ubuntu who are still using it as their only os because of this tool.. you have done mighty fine work..
i read how you were surprised how many people use it because all you ever heard were the complaints.. wasnt it once said "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? only a very small percentage of folks complain about anything so i use it as a gauge..
the more whiners, the more finer the product..
i think ill stick to learning and leave the sayings to those more capable

Thanks.
I have actually already released the second version since continuing.
I am currently working on updating the debian version of remastersys and a new qt gui for remastersys for ubuntu. Once I finish with it I will split remastersys off into 3 packages. The base cli package, the gtk frontend, and the qt frontend. The debian version will end up using these new frontends as well.
How easy is add to remastersys, other graphical interface like Mate, Cinnamon.
Desktop : Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx i386

Laptop : Sony Vaio VGN-N11m : Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot i386
That would be very nice!

If it is .local then it is already included. You should be all set for both if you use 3.0.1.
I test with newer version remastersys 3.0.1-1 on Ubuntu 11.10
and Mate works fine.
Cinnamon doesn' t work, after login returns to classic Ubuntu.

You need to make sure cinnamon is set as the default desktop environment on your system. If you are going into unity then that is the default.
