using multiple home desktops help please?

is it possible to have an instance of the same program, ie, chrome, open on different desktops?
each time i try, it brings me back to desktop #1.

i try and push shift, cntrl, alt and any combo but no love

can i drag different windows to a different desktop?

I suppose you are talking about doing this in Unity? Just middle-click the launcher icon if you want to open a new window of a program you already have open.

...and of course most programs have the option to open a new window in their File-menu as well...
