Sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread, but will there be Lubuntu 12.04 CD's released similar to the Ubuntu ones in the Canonical Store?

    Re: Lubuntu 12.04

I just installed the LXDE desktop in Ubuntu 12.04. My first reaction was 'Interesting', Fast and BLECH! When AWN or Cairo popped up they looked awful - no compositing. I don't mind the lack of compositing in LXDE (since the pure experience is good too), but how does one enable compositing (should one want to)? In the meantime, I won't be using any apps that prefer compositing.

I installed LXDE too on my Beta 2 Ubuntu install, and whenever I try to open Lubuntu Software Centre it crashes and refuses to start. Also happened on a Virtual Box running the Lubuntu Beta 2. Anybody else had this problem?

Lubuntu 12.04 Final Release is only few hours away so hold your breathes

For those who already have Lubuntu 12.04 (Beta or RC) installed, please note that you don't really have to re-download the ISO, you could just upgrade your system:

    Code:
     sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Don't forget to reboot after that

Thank you for choosing and using Lubuntu!

Did that yesterday to beat the download nightmare of release day mania.

Thanks to all for all their hard work.

    Cool Re: Lubuntu 12.04

Just installed Lubuntu 11.10 on this Thinkpad R31. 12.04 Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu won't install, ubiquity windown disappears in copy step. Bugs written. No action.

Don't know if I'll try to leapfrog into Quetzal with sources.list or just let it go at that.

    Re: Lubuntu 12.04

Downloaded the new Lubuntu 12.04, it booted up fine, but the desktop completely froze twice when I plugged in a usb stick, had to completely shutdown. Never had this problem before with Lubuntu

I went ahead and installed LXDE on top of Ubuntu 12.04 and it is running well. Here are some things I added to LXDE to tweak it the way I wanted it:
    notification-daemon
    indicator-weather
    xfce4-power-manager
    psensor
    xfce4-volumed
and I made sure everything I needed in the panel was checked in the desktop-session especially the volume button.
