Lubuntu 11.10 : Volume slider is missing

I've just installed Lubuntu 11.10 but my volume slider widget is missing and I don't seem to be able to install it. Any clue?

    Hi

Are we talking about the Volume Control on the LXPanel?
If yes, please do the following:

    1- Right Click on LXPanel
    2- Add/Remove Panel Items
    3- Add > Volume Control > Add > Close
    4- Done

Thank you for choosing and using Lubuntu

Hi amjjawad, actually, the Volume Control on the LXPanel was there. The problem was not related to LXDE or Lubuntu, but to a bug in Alsa, which didn't recognize my screen card configuration.

Once I solved it, the control automatically appeared

    Thanks anyways

I find that in Lubuntu you can't get the volume to be higher than 100%, to add this feature I have to install gnome-media-center (or something like that)

    Hello my friend

There is a nice thread on my signature, have a look. You'll love it

Why would you need more than 100%?

Because some media files (music or movie)or sites have very low sound volume.

    That's a source problem
No matter how high you set the volume, the quality is bad.

Did you manage to fix it?
