Ubuntu 11.10, Asus EEEpc 1000H - WiFi doesn't work after upgrade

Hello, I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04. If I switch the WiFi on (using the buttons Fn + F2), it finds no network. of course my home Wireless network works, as other devices can connect to it - and the same computer could just before the upgrade.
The connection through an Ethernet cable works perfectly, though.

Oh and.. is there any way to revert back to a "classic" menu bar? I don't really like the new launcher, I feel it's confusing (but this is not very important).

Ok I give up. I'm going back to 11.04.

I hate to say this but I think it's the worst release I've seen since 7 Gutsy Ribbon...

I too have this problem - no wireless after upgrade to 11.10...

I had previously ndiswrapper installed to get the wireless working, but uninstalled it now... for some reason ndiswrapper said that I don't have the hardware installed...

Anyways uninstalling ndiswrapper did not solve the problem...

Any ideas?

Or is there an easy way to roll back to 11.04?

I just put 11.10 in a Éee-Pc 701 4gbs + 4 SD. Everything seems to works don't really like the lôôk of it the "style"of it. Wi-fi icon is visable & is saying that I am not connected but in the real world I am connected.

Same problem on my 1000H. I had to do some vudu to get it working under 10.04 too but, now the article is deemed outdated and all the links are dead. This is SO frustrating... anyone with any ideas on this yet?

I had to blacklist rt2800pci to get my wireless working on previous versions of ubuntu.

If I remove that blacklist then my wireless works fine.
