No, you don't have to think about all the offline computers. That's ridiculous.

If it's a reporting site, and it aims to be effective, then it *has* to take into account a margin of error for such a consideration itself.

Otherwise it's not doing its job very well, is it?

This doesn't matter to me. Think of all the offline GNU/Linux computers, the servers, the supercomputers, etc. Not to mention Android devices which run the Linux kernel but show up as mobile.

Including offline computers will not change the percentage by much because there will be computers with other operating systems installed that are not connected to the 'net.

MS saw itself go from one of the dominant smartphone platforms to third of four, at best, behind iOS and Android.
