Nautilus: can't right-click & rename file, what's the trick?

I don't see any other posts about this problem. Using classic on Oneric, if I right-click & select rename, all goes as normal except the file/folder is not renamed. What am I missing, what's the trick? It's a pain but I have to rename via properties.

Yes I noticed something similar. Try hitting enter after changing the name but before clicking outside the box. Seems to work.

Thanks for that lynrock, why didn't I try that? And why was it changed, would there be any rational explanation?

To coldraven: How does F2 help, have you actually tried it?
Getting into the rename operation is not the problem I had, it was terminating the action that was the problem.

I have the same issue when trying to renaming a long file...but I am using Marlin...thought it was a Marlin bug but I guess it's from within nautilus!
