Oh, awesome. But, why don't you put everything in your 52-elantech-touchpad.conf file? This way you only have one file, and it will work regardless of which window manager you use?

Mine, for example, currently has all the button settings. I'll add the suggested tweaks for the right-click and click-pad support. Thanks!

The button settings are in the conf file, but Gnome 3, when resuming from sleep, resets the TapButton options to the default ones, that is the reason why I use an additional script (containing a simple synclient command) and I force Gnome to take it into account as with the gsettings command from this post.

Thanks mate. Works perfectly! Been looking for this but somehow must have missed it among the tons of pages in this thread. Shouldn't a link to this be in the Wiki?

Ok, I've been able to reproduce your bug. We were hit by the same issue but there seems to be different workarounds. To initialise the login screen switching to another VT works too.

Also when the power cord is not plugged in, I have sound issue and the shutdown is slow (don't have figure for this one).

Tonight I'll open a bug about that.

Do you have an Elantech clickpad? This method works.

See the Wiki to determine what type of clickpad you have. Also, try the other (older) method. If you want more help, you'll need to provide more information.

Probably the .bak is also getting parsed.

Did you try the manual method? If that works, then Ben31's method should, too.

By the way, I'm not sure the 50% and 80% worked for me. Here's a link to my config file. Which has hard numbers for the right click (and middle click) regions.
