Well, I am not familiar with Kubuntu, but in Ubuntu you can define custom keyboard shortcuts. I would think that you would be able to create keyboard shortcuts to raise and lower the volume and adjust the brightness. For instance, define a keyboard shortcut such that fn + f10 mutes the system. Define another keyboard shortcut such that fn + f11 lowers the volume. Etc...

In Ubuntu, this capability is accessed from All Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts.

Sircas, 7 hours of battery life?? What params did you set on the compilation? I just compiled 3.4.5 and everything works great. My only complaint is about the battery life (about 3 hours when 100%).

Has anyone experienced any issues with Google Music Manager? The app only allows me to login and upload music via the USB to Ethernet adapter. Even if I disconnect the adapter after logging in and try using WiFi only it disconnects. No other applications are effected or are experiencing this issue. Not a huge deal. Just an inconvenience.

Hello, guys there is an issue with grub on my Zenbook.
    I reconfigured it so:
-- It loads windows by default
    -- GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=2
    -- GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=false
    -- GRUB_TIMEOUT=0

The problem is - I can't enter grub boot menu, neither by holding shift (right anf left) nor by pressing esc. Thus I can't boot Ubuntu to reconfigure grub.

    Is there a solution?

    (I'm using ubuntu 12.04)
    Thanks in advance!

You should be able to get in there with a LiveCD to change your GRUB settings.

Sorry, for too long time offline.

I'm on vacation and have not been connected to the Internet.

This week I answer your question, when I get to my house.

    Greetings.
