There is another thread for UX21x/UX31a issues.

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2005756

Agree about beauty of the screen.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Not sure of your history with the UX31, but earlier experimentations in this thread turned off the tap-to-click functionality by adding lines to /etc/rc.local by echoing 0x90 to the touch device.

With the sentelic driver now in the kernel, this echo will actually stop your touchpad working... it will restart properly after a suspend though.

So if you have played with that in the past, it might be worth checking /etc/rc.local (or any other startup scripts you might have done this in)

I only compared the battery life of the two kernels I have a lot more battery time in the 3.3 kernel.

If i have 6 hours with 3.4, i have 7 hours with 3.3 in the same cpu state.

(I'm using it for bluetooth mouse)
    I'd really recommend 3.5-rc3

Regarding touchpad, I'm wondering if anyone know will three fingers touch/swipe be supported? Mine is Sentelic.
Are you using a patch? or just the compiled kernel?

Hi a friend of mine is having the same problem with his UX31 :

    - WIth an external monotor he can see the Bios and Ubuntu
    - ON the main screen he see nothing , but the backlight seems to work

Did anyone solve this problem by restting or updating Bios settings ?

What happened ? do you think it's related to Ubuntu hibernation ? it seems that it happens also to Windows users.

and with 3.4.2 no wlan, no usb device working an i915 not loaded
attached lspci --nnvv files where you can see some differences

Just tried 3.5rc4 kernel - no wifi, no video drivers. However, sentelic touchpad works with multitouch without patching. Reverted to my good old patched 3.2.14.

yes working touchpad is great but lots of other things do not work anymore..
    drivers/modules
    Code:
     i915, mei, snd-hda-intel, shpchp (driver pcieport), iTCO_wdt, i2c-i801 and ath9k
are not loaded. dont know why.
using my own compiled kernel 3.4.4 everything works really good. dont know what they have changed since 3.4.2..

The 3.4rc3 is working fine here (ux31e).
    All works fine.
