Unity 5.8 + compiz brought the compiz wakeup fixup which lessened powertop wakeups. In addition to that, I'm using the two extra kernel parameters in wiki which may affect something (at least the drm vblank setting helps with i915 wakeups now that the fixed compiz is in 12.04).
ALPM did drop the power usage with around 0.9W for me, seemingly, but of course there is also a possibility of an error. I believe the the rate reported by battery may not be really accurate anyway, and of course since I've been testing with WLAN enabled, the WLAN driver might select a higher transmit power among else. For example I did at some point get a reported 4.53W, but now I'm getting 5.2W without any apparent difference.
With regards to ASPM, if you are not in a hurry, pcie_aspm=force kernel parameter should start to work again and force the ASPM on Zenbook in the coming weeks in Ubuntu. After that you won't need the manual enable_aspm scripts, but you will need the pcie_aspm=force parameter since Zenbook BIOS is doing the wrong thing.
Note: I'm also using the stock 12.04 kernel, not any 3.3 rc kernel et cetera.
