Unhappy desperate - installed VirtualBox and it killed my laptop

I just installed VirtualBox from www.virtualbox.com. I installed the windows version (I have a Toshiba and it is running Vista) and as soon as it finished installing, it completely made my computer shut down. It showed the usual blue first, said something along the lines of "erasing physical memory," and then restarted my computer. Upon start-up it tried to automatically repair my laptop and failed. I've tried all of the system restore points and all have failed. is there anything else I can do? It is capable of starting up in safe mode, if that helps. Thank you!

Sorry if this is on the wrong forum, I'm not sure where to go.

Sorry, ** www.virtualbox.org ** is where I downloaded it from.

Talking Re: desperate - installed VirtualBox and it killed my laptop

Tried the memory diagnostic tool and it restarted when it finished. Seems to have worked. Now I'm uninstalling the program. What a nightmare! I hope this at least helps someone else out with the same problem that I had.

I run Virtualbox on several systems with native Ubuntu and it works great.

Glad you were able to fix it!
