    list view

This just started and drives me crazy. I cannot believe how little functionality and how much problems Ubuntu 11.10 has caused. Now whenever I open nautilus I get icon view and yes I have set it to list view both in my home and sudo nautilus. I hate icon view. Even when I reset it in preferences if I open preferences again it shows icon view. I hope there is a fix.

    Re: list view

If you have a problem with nautilus; go ask in support forums, as you're doing. If you have a problem with Ubuntu, go over to the Testimonials and experiences forum. Please separate the two!

As for nautilus, can you run us through what you did to set it. Then make sure your system is up-to-date, then try nautilus again, then if it's still not working, file a bug here and see what they say. It may be fixed in 12.04, giving any details they require.

I hope I'm not being too presumptuous.

    Maybe restarting nautilus?

    Code:
    nautilus -q

The restart nautilus worked. Though before when I set it to list view it didn't revert with each opening of a folder. Thanks
