Thank you wildmanne39. That worked brilliantly.

Re: Can't connect to wireless after 11.10 upgrade

    I have Asus U56E laptop.

    I'm running Mint 13 Cinnamon 64-bit / Ubuntu 12.04 with 3.2.0-23 kernel.

    sudo modprobe -r iwlagn
    sudo modprobe iwlagn bt_coex_active=0
    make permanent with
    gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwl.conf
Copy/paste this line into the new file:
    options iwlagn bt_coex_active=0
    then, to fix slow internet
    sudo rmmod -f iwlagn
    sudo modprobe iwlagn 11n_disable=1
    make permanent with
    gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwlagn-disable11n.conf
    options iwlagn 11n_disable=1

The first two lines do it for me (wireless works). I created an alias...
alias wifi='sudo modprobe -r iwlagn && sudo modprobe iwlagn bt_coex_active=0'
and I have a terminal automatically open when I log in (add gnome-terminal to startup applications). I just type in 'wifi' and enter password and I'm surfin' the net. A little extra work but I like the extra securtiy.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Can't connect to wireless after 11.10 upgrade

so I'm currently running on Elementary OS Luna, and I got the same problem. I've gone through all the solutions listed here and I got nothing. I was wondering if anyone happened to know if this problem has been fixed in 12.10?

I realized that this problem occurred after I suspended my laptop. I was wondering if that happened with anyone else? And if so, does anyone have a solution yet?

[Found a solution after Googling for hours. And I'm sure it's been mentioned here, but I have no idea why I didn't try it. ]
[Solution "sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf" and adding "options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0" ]
