Cheese Webcam Booth not working well.

So I can click on Cheese and my webcam comes on but i have to move and then it will change from black. But even when it's on me it goes completely black or partially black, like little black squares, but the webcam is still on. Then I'll put on one of the 10 effects it has and I go to open it, it's mostly black and the effect is crazy and not in one place.

I'm not quite sure what could be wrong with it. Anyone have any ideas? And I also believe I have a C110 logitech webcam.

I think I have 10.04 Ubuntu.

Unfortunately it did not help. My screen goes completely black with black squares sometimes, it doesn't really dim. And it doesn't work in quvcview either.

I think it's compiz related. I turned down the capture resolution in the cheeze setting and that helped but there were other issues. I installed genome-session-fallback and logged in to that session... poof! Problems solved! for me...
